When I asked I say I'm a muslim because that's what I grew up with, but to me the specifics of any religion is just a layer of human culture wrapped around the Truth. One cannot describe that Truth with words, though. It must be experienced. I was areligious in my teens, but if one experiences life and finds any sort of existential bliss at any point then he has felt that Truth. If I had to describe it, my religion is learning and compassion, and any worthwile religious teaching will put those two things above anything else. To understand is to know the Truth. One can find that Truth with any book or practice. I imagine that's why so many religions are so similar.
